Several years ago, we launched a fundraising campaign to help us complete locomotive 520’s replacement tender.
Thank you to everyone who’s donated to the project so far – with your donations, the tender is back at Mt Barker, the engine unit has been stripped, and the boiler is ready to be lifted off its frames.
This is all very exciting, and something we are all very proud of, given that we are a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation, undertaking one of the largest locomotive restoration projects in the southern hemisphere.. and all during a global pandemic!
Now it’s time for a call to arms to see the engine unit overhauled. We need your help!
