Southern Lights Special
December 23 at 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm
Our annual light trains are back for another year, to jazz up the South Coast and bring in the festive spirit!
Join us this Christmas, as SteamRanger, presents South Australia’s first ever illuminated train journey returns for it’s second season!
Experience our 1950’s Redhen Railcar fleet, like never before, as they are decked out inside and out with Christmas lights and decorations.
The “Southern Lights”, will depart Goolwa at 8.00pm, and will travel to Victor Harbor, allowing our passengers a breathtaking sunset journey along the beach between Port Elliot and Victor Harbor – even stopping along the way for passengers to take photos from the train (weather permitting).
On arrival at Victor Harbor, a local band will be on band to play Christmas carols, and Father Christmas will join the train for the return to Goolwa. Snack food, drinks and merchandise stalls will also be on the platform at Victor Harbor.
In addition, the National Trust Museum will open it’s doors to our passengers, for those looking to indulge in some local history during the layover. What’s more – entry is included in your fare!
