Volunteering with SteamRanger is a rewarding, and exciting experience, and is open to people from all walks of life.

We offer internal training programs to teach new skills, and operate our railway in the safest possible manner.

What can I do?

We are always looking for new volunteers, to join our team.

Some examples include:

  • Track and Infrastructure Maintenance
  • Train Operations - including Passenger Attendants, Guards, Station Masters, Buffet Supervisors, Buffet Assistants, Ticket Officers and Shop Staff
  • Mechanical Services - including Drivers, Firemen/Observers, fitter and turners, Carpenters
  • Administrative roles.
